On April 1, alumni received an email from Harvard to cast their vote in the 2025 Election for Overseers and HAA Board of Directors. This is an important outlet for alumni to contribute to Harvard’s governance, and to provide input and guidance on the direction of the university. As an organization representing a large, diverse community, H4A understands the importance of fostering diversity, equity, inclusion, and racial justice at Harvard. We seek to elevate leaders and allies who have the courage to fight for these values, especially in this current moment.
Each year, our fellow alumni in the Coalition for a Diverse Harvard (CDH) go through an intensive process over many weeks to endorse the Board of Overseer and Elected Director candidates who have the strongest histories of advocacy and accomplishments on diversity initiatives and are best positioned to help Harvard be a more diverse, inclusive, and just institution. Their vetting process includes researching each candidate, reviewing their responses to a Diversity Questionnaire as well as Overseer candidates’ responses to Harvard Magazine’s questionnaire, individually interviewing all candidates who have made themselves available, and reviewing their official ballot bios. More information about CDH’s process can be found HERE.
H4A and 17 other alumni Shared Interest Groups (SIGs) have co-endorsed the following CDH slates (in ballot order):
- Board of Overseers: Anjali Sud (MBA '11), Mark A. Edwards (AB '82), Mary Louise Kelly (AB '93), Nathaniel Owen Keohane (PhD '01), and Courtney B. Vance (AB '82).
- Elected Directors: Angela M. Ruggiero (AB '02, MBA '14), Sanjay Seth (MPA '19, MUP '19), Theresa J. Chung (AB '98, JD '02), Daniel H. Ahn (AB '90, MBA '97), Colin J. Kegler (AB '97), and Victoria "Vicky" Wai Ka Leung (AB '91).
By voting for these candidates, you will ensure that those representing us are the alumni who are best equipped to hold Harvard accountable to its stated values.
Less than 15% of alumni have participated in past years’ elections. Let's increase that number and use our collective power to elect alumni representatives that will stand up for what is right!
